California lives in me like a song I can't stop humming. I spent years there, and this painting is my attempt to hold all of it at once — the redwood forests, the mountains, the Pacific rolling in, the golden fields, the desert heat, the orchards. That apple at the top of the heart? That's Silicon Valley, that restless engine of ideas. Everything in this place moves. The energy never settles. So I let the brush swirl, layer over layer, color chasing color — blue for the ocean, green for the forests, red for the earth, yellow for that relentless California sun. The spiral in the corner is the ocean doing what it always does: pulling you in, turning you around, sending you back changed. This is not a postcard. This is what it felt like to be alive there.
